Barcade Concept

Project Overview
High Score Barcade is a concept website created for a 21+ retro arcade bar combining classic arcade machines with craft cocktails and a nightlife atmosphere. The goal was to design a bold, immersive digital experience that captures the energy of an ’80s–’90s arcade while still feeling modern, clear, and easy to use on any device.

The site was designed to feel exciting without being chaotic — allowing visitors to quickly understand what the venue is, what it offers, and how to visit.
This project included UX strategy, content creation, visual design, and development in Wix Studio.

Goals
The main goals for this project were:

• Create a strong, recognizable brand identity with a retro-modern tone
   

• Make the venue feel fun, energetic, and adult-focused
   

• Clearly present the game lineup, drink menu, and location
   

• Design a mobile-first experience optimized for scrolling and tapping
   

• Encourage visitors to take action (view the lineup, explore drinks, get directions)
   

The site needed to feel immersive and exciting, but never confusing or overwhelming.

My Approach
I designed the experience around clarity, energy, and atmosphere — blending retro inspiration with modern UX best practices.
The structure was intentionally simple and focused:

• A bold hero section to establish the brand and mood
   

• A game lineup section to highlight both classics and hidden gems
   

• A drinks section to showcase signature cocktails and bar offerings
   

• A visit section to make location, hours, and parking easy to find
   

The layout was designed to guide users naturally through discovery and toward visiting in person.
Design choices focused on impact and readability:

• High-contrast neon colors on dark backgrounds to evoke an arcade environment
   

• Large, bold typography for clear hierarchy and visual punch
   

• Cinematic, stylized imagery to reinforce atmosphere
   

• Generous spacing and stacked layouts for easy mobile navigation
   

All content was written in a confident, playful tone that reflects the venue’s personality — energetic, nostalgic, and unapologetically adult.

The Result
The final result is a high-impact, mobile-first website that makes High Score Barcade feel like a real destination.
It communicates:

• A strong sense of brand and atmosphere
   

• Clear information about games, drinks, and location
   

• An experience designed for adults, nightlife, and competition
   

• Easy paths to explore the lineup, view the menu, and get directions
   

While this is a concept project, the outcome demonstrates how thoughtful structure, visual identity, and UX design can bring a high-energy entertainment venue to life online — turning curiosity into intent and interest into action.
